An interesting overstrike

CRUSADERS. Antioch. Tancred, regent, 1101-1112. Follis (Bronze, 22 mm, 2.82 g, 6 h). [ΚΕ ΒΟ TANKP] Cuirassed bust of Tancred facing, wearing turban with cross and holding sword in his right hand. Rev. Cross pommée on floriate base; in angles, IC / XC / NI/KA. Malloy 4a. Metcalf 65. Porteous 17. Overstruck on an earlier follis of Tancred (Malloy 3a. Metcalf 53. Porteous 16). Very fine.

From a collection of Arab-Byzantine and Crusader coins, formed in the 1990s.

This interesting coin was overstruck on an earlier follis of Tancred bearing the bust of St. Peter, with the the cross of St. Peter on the obverse and the first line of the reverse inscription (KЄBOI) still being visible.
